Black Friday at Research Repository UCD

All academic and research staff were required to update their publication lists in UCD’s Research Management System (RMS) by the end of November so that they’ll be counted in the President’s annual report. They often upload the full text to the repository at the same time. That makes November our busiest month for papers being uploaded, a sort of Black Friday for the repository.

True to form, 271 papers were uploaded by 70 individuals in November, 138 of them in the week leading up to the President’s Report deadline This is our highest monthly upload figure since the RMS and RRU were linked together.

The most frequently downloaded item this year is a paper from 2006, The economic and social impact of higher education, (O’Carroll, C., Harmon, Colm, Farrell, Lisa : The economic and social impact of higher education. Irish Universities Association, 2006) with a total of 6,969 downloads since November 2008. It has been downloaded mostly in the US, Ireland, India, Kenya, Pakistan, Fiji, the UK, Australia and China, plus 140 other countries.
