Aurora Leadership Development Programme
UCD Archives Principal Archivist, Kate Manning is a successful candidate on the Aurora Leadership Development Programme 2016/17. Aurora is a women-only leadership development programme organised by the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education (https://www.lfhe.ac.uk). 2016/17 is the fourth year of Aurora, with six cohorts taking place across the UK and Ireland. UCD is supporting the participation of twenty-one women in the 2016/17 programme. Aurora consists of five development days which cover the subjects Identity, Impact and Voice; Power and Politics; Action Learning Sets; Core Leadership Skills and Adaptive Leadership Skills. Development days include compulsory pre-work in order to maximise the learning experience and make the most of the activities in which the participants will engage. Each participant chooses a mentor from within her institution and it is expected that the mentor and mentee will schedule six to eight meetings lasting an hour and a half over the course of the year. In addition to mentors, the participants have access to role models and speakers at the development days. Participants are encouraged to tweet during the development days so follow #LFAurora and watch out for tweets from @ucdarchives!
